Joost Ziff is looking at the camera.

I am a 6th year PhD student in philosophy, working on belief, effort, and free will. In the composition program, I have enjoyed teaching students how to write, research, and better engage with the political world around them in a knowlegeable fashion. Besides teaching and writing, I am also a self-admitted coffee snob, and enjoy sharing my funky, crazy, and juicy tasting coffee with friends and family alike.

Courses Typically Taught:

  • Writing 60

Themes Typically Taught:

  • Free Speech and its Limits.
  • Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the Working World.

Textbooks Needed:

  • Still under development, but probably will be using the Elizabeth Anderson's "Private Government." Course is always supplemented with current articles on free speech controversies (of which there are plenty these days.)
