Darby Price in front of blue wall

Darby Price has been a Lecturer at UC Irvine since 2016 and is currently finishing her fourth and final year as an Assistant Course Director for WR50. She has taught across the curriculum in the Writing Series, and specializes in WR 45/50 and WR 60. Her most recently developed themes are Rhetoric of the Devil (WR 45/50) and Information & Influence (WR 60), and her favorite thing to do as an instructor is help students see familiar texts and patterns in a brand new way. Outside of her teaching work at UCI, Darby develops creative writing workshops for WriteGirl, a global, teen-centered organization. She earned her MFA in Poetry at George Mason University, and her poetry—which focuses on ecopoetics, mythology, and themes of place & family legacy—has been published in venues like Beloit Poetry Journal, Redivider, Zócalo Public Square, and Cimarron Review, among others. In her spare time, she likes to bake, listen to audiobooks, and binge-watch a good SciFi/Fantasy show (in between Bachelor franchise shows--let’s go Golden Gerry Turner!)
