For 7 years and 7 months from 1948, Jeju Island was an island of death. The South Korean military and police massacred 30,000 islanders and burned their houses in the name of eradicating communist guerrillas. A significant portion of the victims of Jeju 4.3 were women, but the damage they suffered was not known for a long time. This documentary follows the path of a dedicated Jeju 4.3 researcher, and brings out the experiences of Jeju women who have been sealed in the dark, and their voices that were locked in silence, to the world.
