Call for Scholarship Applications: WriteNow Summer Session

Eligibility
  • Currently enrolled School of Humanities PhD candidates who will be in their final year of dissertation completion in AY 2020-2021.
  • SOH graduate students who have received funding to attend the 2020 National Humanities Center Pedagogy or Podcasting Institute or the 2020 LARB Publishing Workshop are NOT eligible to receive a WriteNow scholarship.
Program

WriteNow Summer Session Beta is a 12-week program, exclusively for graduate students and postdocs. Participants will:
  • Use the custom WriteNow platform to track and collect data regarding their own writing and research productivity.
  • Set and achieve goals related to productivity and self-care.
  • Join other participants in small groups to form a community of support for mutual success.
  • Receive tailored support from the NCFDD team.
Access Dates: May 17 - August 8, 2020 (12 Weeks)

The program is designed and offered by the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (https://www.facultydiversity.org/), which also offers the Faculty Success Program and the Dissertation Success Program.

  1. A one-page single spaced abstract of your dissertation
  2. A one-page single-spaced description of your availability to participate in a 12-week online program (May 17-Aug 8); your plans for dissertation completion in AY 2020-2021; and your source of funding in AY 2020-2021.
A letter of support from your dissertation adviser confirming that you expect to complete your degree by Spring 2021 must be sent to Amanda Swain ajswain@uci.edu by 11 am on Thursday, May 7.
