Humanities Out There matches humanities PhD students with community organizations as well as higher education offices for a paid summer internship. The program is an excellent model of a university–community partnership: students not only apply their analytical, teaching, and writing skills but also gain practical and professional experience outside their departments. Organizations build capacity by working with students who possess expertise across diverse disciplines.
