Center for Civic Flourishing

Drawing on expertise from faculty across campus, the Center will foster and monitor the effectiveness of new educational opportunities for UC Irvine students, particularly initiatives that draw on our distinctive scholarly culture to promote the civic virtues. 

The Center brings together an interdisciplinary network of faculty concerned with centering the scholarly and civic virtues within UC Irvine's academic ethos, which includes open inquiry and a willingness to debate a wide variety of perspectives. 

The Center's activities will contribute to the promotion of civic life and public debate by upholding scholarly virtues, thereby showcasing UC Irvine's scholarly culture.
