
UCI's New Swan Shakespeare Center, in collaboration with UCI Illuminations, presents Transfigurations: a series of sessions on the transformation of classical narratives hosted by guest scholar, Neah Lekan! SESSION ONE | SPACE | How does space/environment influence one’s adaptations of existing works?
Guest: Katherine Brokaw
Katherine Steele Brokaw researches and teaches Shakespearean performance, eco-theater, and medieval and early modern drama. She is co-founder of Shakespeare in Yosemite and of the EarthShakes Alliance. She is a professor of literature, environmental humanities, and theater at University of Texas Austin, where she directs Shakespeare at Winedale. She is on the Board of Trustees of the Shakespeare Association of America and is the author of two books on Shakespeare.
