In honor of Shakespeare's Birthday, please join us for a seminar with Artistic Director Eli Simon, his co-adapter Anna Fitzgerald, and composer Zachary Dietz. They will take you inside the creative process behind this season's original musical adaptation, The Merry Wives of Windsor Cove. When does the production of a play, which always involves artistic choices and creative cuts, become an adaptation--something truly new? How did the shift from Shakespeare's "Windsor Castle" to Swan's "Windsor Cove" liberate the creators to unleash and renew Shakespeare's comic energy? The centerpiece of our production is a suite of new songs that evoke Elvis Presley and the early years of rock n' roll.
