UC Irvine funding sources

  • Art History Department funding -- Students may apply to the Art History Department for Steckler and/or Gerard funds for summer research, language study, and conference travel. Calls for applications are usually issued in winter or spring quarters.
  • Campus Centers and Institutes (see list above) -- Many campus centers will issue calls for applications for graduate research support or projects in their areas of interest
  • Federal FAFSA/Financial Aid information -- for domestic students
  • Graduate Division -- offers a number of funding opportunities which are often administered or announced through the OGS
  • Humanities Center graduate student funding -- The Humanities Center offers financial support to students for conferences and individual research. They also run workshops related to grant applications and for applications for fellowships such as the Fulbright and ACLS
  • Office of Graduate Studies, School of Humanities -- Throughout the academic year, OGS issues calls for applications for funding, including for specific fellowships, conference travel, dissertation research, summer research, and summer language study. Some of these fellowships require nomination by departments or programs, and for others, students may apply independently.
  • UC Irvine Associated Graduate Students (AGS) -- offers small grants to support conference attendance, projects, and events
