Enroll in our new course CLASSIC 197: Colloquium and learn about the depth and breadth of Classics as a field of study relevant to our fast-changing world! Once a week for 50 minutes you will meet a different faculty member in a relaxed classroom setting and ask questions about their research and teaching interests, explore employment options relevant to the study of the ancient world and its receptions, inquire about graduate school, meet other students, and appreciate the richness and diversity of the study of Classics at UC Irvine. This 1-unit course is designed primarily for Classics majors, but all students curious about the benefits of a classical education are welcome! Grade is P/NP and based on attendance, class participation, and a short reflective essay at the conclusion of the course.
