Writer, Producer, Cultural Critic

Eric Newman is a Los Angeles-based producer, writer, and cultural critic with nearly two decades of experience working across podcasts, TV, radio, film, print, and digital media. His producing credits include the true crime series The Real KillerBitter BloodQueen of the Con, and The Murder of Robert Wone; the Black comedy biography series Funny My Way; and the YouTube series "High in the Sky" and "Rivals." He is currently Editor-at-Large for the Los Angeles Review of Books and has been a co-host and producer of the LARB Radio Hour on KPFK since 2017His scholarship and criticism have appeared in a wide range of publications, including LARBLitHubBookforumCallaloo, and Modernism/modernityHe holds a Ph.D. in English from UCLA, an M.A. in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and a BA in English and Journalism from New York University.
