Margaret Cavendish's "The Convent of Pleasure": A Dramatic Reading+

Margaret Cavendish’s 1668 play The Convent of Pleasure tells the story of a Princess who enters a convent of women, only to be revealed as a Prince in disguise. Neah Lekan's adaptation, directed by Sammie Moore, presents a tragicomic reimagining of Cavendish’s original, uniting scholarship and practice to tell a poignant and painfully familiar transfeminine story. 

This dramatic reading will be full of familiar faces, featuring actors Rachael VanWormer and Mikayla Conley.
