  • Can I take this course as Pass/No Pass?
  • When is the deadline to drop a class?
Chat is available Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm. To log-on to chat with a Peer Academic Advisor, during scheduled hours, please click here.

One-on-one drop-in advising allows you to virtually meet with a School of Humanities academic advisor via Zoom for general advising questions, scheduling issues, degree requirements, and questions regarding school policies and procedures.

Drop-in appointments are available for current undergraduate Humanities students and non-Humanities students who have completed our Change of Major procedure ( Non-Humanities students with a minor in the School of Humanities may only been seen through drop-in advising during Weeks 2 - 7 and 10 only. Students seeking readmission are not eligible for drop-in advising and must schedule an appointment.

Drop-ins are available Monday through Friday from 1pm to 3:30pm. To add yourself to the drop-in queue during scheduled hours, which will place you in a virtual line to meet with an advisor, please click here to fill out the request form. NOTE: This form is only available during drop-in hours and will not accept responses outside of drop-in hours.

Please make sure that your name on your UCI Zoom account matches your full name (first and last name) listed on your UCI student record. Students will be seen one-on-one on a first-come, first-serve basis. Drop-in advising meetings last approximately 15 minutes.

If you have just a few straightforward questions for a counselor, email is a great way to get the information you need. You can expect a response from a counselor within 48 business hours.
Examples of questions that can be asked via email:
  •     What do you think about this tentative course schedule?
  •     Can you help me decide how many units I should take?
  •     How many courses do I have remaining for my major?
New student advising will take place this summer throughout July and August. Details on this advising will be sent via email and posted on our Advising for New Freshmen and Advising for New Transfers pages in the coming weeks.
For now, please continue to refer to the New Student Welcome Guide for information.
