Class of 2016 art history major Philana Li opens her exhibition Reflecting Selves: Asian American Artists in Texas at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio Texas on June 11th!

Reflecting Selves: Asian American Artists in Texas presents five Texas-based artists pushing against societal perceptions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. The artworks in this exhibition depict diverse Asian American experiences in American society due to harmful, discriminatory thoughts, actions, and perceptions. Reflecting Selves: Asian American Artists in Texas refutes the model minority myth and stereotypes. Reflecting Selves will be running until October 9th, 2022.

You can find more information about her exhibit by visiting this link: https://www.mcnayart.org/exhibition/reflecting-selves-asian-american-artists-in-texas/

She will also be starting her PhD program at the University of Kansas in Lawrence this Fall!

Congratulations Philana!
