Bio:

Yadira Dockstader is a Mexican-American interdisciplinary artist, curator and researcher who works through collaboration to negate pauses in medical and scientific research. Her work explores the stresses and slippages within a dematerializing world. Her performances, video, sound and installation works operate as an alternative to disseminating scientifically-generated data, facts, stats, and numbers through her process. This process and collaboration bring together medical and scientific communities with the aim of showing and affecting how the public can gain access to important information (or misinformation).

She is a 2nd year MFA candidate with a medical humanities emphasis at the University of California Irvine, Claire Trevor School of the Arts. In addition, she is a researcher for the UCI Burns Piñion Ridge Reserve in Yucca Valley/ Joshua Tree, CA.
