Speaker Biography:
George J. Sánchez is the author of Boyle Heights: How a Los Angeles Neighborhood Became the Future of American Democracy (University of California Press, 2021) and the award-winning book Becoming Mexican American (Oxford University Press, 1993). He is a Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity and History at the University of Southern California. In 2020–2021, he was President of the Organization for American Historians.
