New Graduate Courses offered in Fall 2019!

Program in Academic English is offering TWO new courses for graduate students: Graduate Writing for Scholarly Publication and Thesis/Dissertation Writing for Graduate Students in Fall 2019!

AE 29: Graduate Writing for Scholarly Publication (20181) is designed to help graduate students in the preparation of a conference paper or journal manuscript for publication. In this course, students will:

• learn how to write for academic publication in their fields
• understand plagiarism and source use conventions
• work on a writing project you bring (e.g. conference/journal paper, etc.)
• receive individualized feedback through one-on-one writing tutorials

AE 29: Thesis/Dissertation Writing for Graduate Students (20183) is designed to help graduate students in the preparation of a thesis/dissertation (or proposal). In this course, students will:

• learn how to plan and structure a thesis/dissertation project
• understand the focuses and goals of different chapters 
• practice different ways of integrating sources to avoid plagiarism
• receive individualized feedback through one-on-one writing tutorials

Both courses are for graduate students from any discipline and are open to students from all language backgrounds.
