After the 1973 Coup put an end to the socialist government of Salvador Allende, most Chilean filmmakers went into exile. Dispersed all over the world, they made more than 200 films, animations, videos, and works for television. Join us for an engaging talk with Dr. Palacios, who builds upon extensive archival research to uncover and trace the story of this radical cinema in his riveting new book.
Professor José Miguel Palacios is an Assistant Professor of Critical Studies in the Department of Cinematic Arts at California State University-Long Beach. He will be available to sign copies of his book (available at the event at a 40% discount).
