The San Diego Central Library is participating in the Folger Library First Folio Tour. Seth Lehrer, Distinguished Professor of Literature at UCSD, gathered together representatives of Shakespeare Studies from 6 UC campuses to present the work that their campus is doing in preserving and promoting the vitality of Shakespeare in their classrooms and public spaces. Julia Lupton represented UCI. Janet Napolitano gave opening remarks and joined the group for dinner. There is talk about more coordinated Shakespeare work among the campuses moving forward.
