Julia Lupton, "Knowing by Nursing: Shakespearean Performances of Care"

New Swan Shakespeare Center is happy to partner with UCI's Center for Nursing Philosophy on this remote lecture featuring Julia Lupton (UCI English).

In this talk, Shakespeare scholar Julia Lupton will examine several scenes in Shakespeare in which nursing becomes a way of knowing in order to pose the larger questions, “What can Shakespeare teach us about practices of care? How are Shakespeare’s plays themselves acts of healing?” The talk will be accompanied by clips of the scenes in performance.
