In the article, Gavzer state that traditional American families often includes "two parents, a father who works, and a mother who raise her two or three children at home."  This is also true for traditional Japanese families.  Japanese men want their wives to stay at home and take care of their children while they are out working very hard to support their families.  Therefore it can be said that families in America and Japan bases their belief of a traditional family on the same points.   But I also found some differences.  Americans seem to date more people before marriage than Japanese people does.  Although an American experience many dates, this do not make it any easier to marry the right person.  Everybody have a hard time picking the right person for a husband or wife.  In Japan there is many networks that can arrange marriages for men and women.  When the right person is found, the marriage follow.

 This is about an Indian family.  The parents decided to come to America with the intention of getting jobs and giving their children a better education.  Before they came to America they had sold most of their property in their country.  They thought they can earn three or four times more money than what they were earning in India.  When they first arrived in America, they don't know anybody in the country.  The family stayed in a hotel until they find a place to live.  As soon as they move to an apartment, they started to apply for jobs that were related to their fields, but they didn't succeed.  At first, they were unsuccessful because they don't speak English well and their degrees in engineering were not valid in the state they were living in.  Their pride and self dignity were hurt and too many doors were closed to their success.

I enjoy playing soccer.  Soccer is a very healthy sports.  The players have to run most of the times.  Their eye always concentrate on the ball.  In this game, the players get tired very quickly.  In a competitions, the players must wear uniform to identify their teams.  Usually they wear soccer shoe that have sharps edges.  These edge help the players run.  They wear short and T-shirts with numbers on them.  Each players has his name on his shirt to identify him to his coach.

Without the computer,  we would still be in the Dark Ages.   Computer has helped people to have better lives and better living conditions. It can do things faster than people can. The computer has also helped advance our communication and transportation systems. As we become more advanced,  we need more computer engineers to create a better world for future.  There will be lot of jobs for computer engineers.  This is excellent career for someone who enjoys cyberspace.  Computer Engineering is one of best majors for me.

When my life was on the edge, my mom risked her life to save me.  I can still recall the moment when we were on a boat sailing to America.  Our boat ran out of fuel and the engine shut down.  My mom gave me all her food that left over.  After a few days passed, we rescued by a boat, but only a certain number of people could saved.  With such a generous heart my mom told them to take me and she would stay behind.  Luckily the decision made to take everyone.  Though some moms out there are the same as mine, I still think my mom is the best.  Amelia Earhart and Rambo not considered my idols.  They do represent what heroes are, but my idol is someone that has done so much for me.

When taking a test, many people form what is called “test anxiety.”  Test anxiety is fearful of ruining the test.   It is a problem for many students who have to take many  tests.  As a student myself  I take many exams, and every time I take the tests I get test anxiety.  I think “what if I do poor on the test?”  Once I had to take the SAT.   Of course I had to do goodl because it would put me into a college.  The pressure on me was enormously.  I was shaking my legs to relax, but it didn’t help.  Once I started the test, I couldn’t remember anything.  I knew I had studied, but I wasn’t ability to remember anything.  It was in my head, but I was so nerves that the things I studied were flooding my head, so obvious I did poorly on the SAT..

I've did many volunteer jobs that are relate to the medical field.  Last summer I volunteered at a doctor's office and had the chance to talk with the doctor about my career choice.  The doctor, who is a friend of my parents, is a successful man.  He works at a popular hospital in our community.  He told me that becoming a doctor was not about money but about help people.  He said, "If you want making a lot of money, you should became an engineer."  He advised me to decide on the profession that matched my goals in life.  It was good advice.

Certainly, the influence one nation can have to another can result with unwanted change and a loss of traditions, but, on the other hand, is it in fact harmful or destructive for the other nation? When a nation takes over another and tries to bestow upon the people there a new culture that causes unfavorable modifications among their lives, change can be bad. However, change does not always have devastating results.

Before I moved to the United States. I had a friend who was an orphan. She did not know anything about her family history fortunately she was adopted by a family who decided to move to England. She was very young when she went there and she did not know much about her own culture, either. Just last summer, she emailed me to say that she was coming to visit. When I saw her again. I could sense the changes in her personality. Not only had she become more mature. She had also gained confidence she was open talkative helpful and charming.

Culture and ethnicity define who we are. In Nash Candelaria's novel Memories of the Alhambra, 
the main character, Jose Rafa, is very proud of who he is because he thinks that they are from the beautiful and magnificent conquistador culture. To Jose, his culture and ethnicity define our very own being. It is too critical to be ignored. They are like the identification cards we carry in our wallets; I would go through a crisis of identity without it. Without my original culture, I would be empty. Likewise, Jose doesn't seem to belong to the Rafa family once he abandons his culture. Losing them can only mean losing one's very existence.  Therefore, culture and ethniciaty are crucial in our lives, and you can't live without it.
