The two seminars that bookend Wednesday’s lecture are aimed primarily at graduate students undertaking or considering the Critical Theory Emphasis, but all are welcome. Short readings will be distributed in advance, which you can request by completing this REGISTRATION FORM.
Samera Esmeir is associate professor in the Department of Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of Juridical Humanity: A Colonial History (Stanford UP, 2012). She has also published articles on such questions as memory, war, violence, coloniality, disaster, and internationalism. She is currently writing a second book, titled The Struggle that Remains: Between World and International. Esmeir is the senior editor of Critical Times: Interventions in Global Critical Theory.
