Science Fiction Faculty Forum

 Anteater's Guide to the Galaxy Club     May 17 2019 | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM HG 1800

Anteater's Guide to the Galaxy (your resident sci-fi club) invites you to attend their Science Fiction Faculty Forum!

Professor of Classics Paul Zissos will discuss the history of science & sci-fi and Chancellor's Professor of English Jonathan Alexander will detail futurism as a sci-fi trope. In the spirit of the genre, this will be an interdisciplinary event, so you will have the opportunity to hear other professors from the humanities, biological sciences, physical sciences, computer science and more!

Best of all, you can ask these esteemed faculty members anything about Science Fiction, from "What will be the ethical implications of time travel if we are one day able to engineer a time machine?" to "What are the physics behind Endgame?" We will also have trivia throughout the event for students to win prizes! After the event, there will be an extra hour to give you an the opportunity to network with the professors and other students.

Free refreshments provided! Event is free and open to anyone affiliated with UCI.
