Alternatives to Animal Testing
Human Organ Chips: From Experimental Models to Clinical Mimicry

November 11, 2020 | 4:00-5:15 p.m.

Don Ingber's team is creating organs on chips that mimic the dynamic physical environment, movements, and interactions of actual bodily organs, which can then be linked together in functional systems. This innovation promises to speed regulatory approval and decrease animal models. Students, faculty, and friends in humanities, medicine, engineering, and biosciences, and beyond, are invited to join this multidisciplinary conversation.

Questions and discussion will be moderated by UCI faculty Brian Cummings (School of Medicine) and Brianne Donaldson (School of Humanities).
