Southern California Ecocritical Theory Symposium: The Future of Ecocritical Theory. May 16, 2014. UC Irvine

The Future of Ecocritical Theory is an inaugural event designed to raise the profile of ecocritical scholarship within the southern California UC and CSU systems. We welcome academics from southern California to participate in a series of panels and roundtable discussions designed to foster inter-UC collaboration at both the faculty and graduate level.

Speakers include:

Ursula Heise, Professor of English and Appointed Faculty at UCLA’s Interdisciplinary Institute of the Environment and Sustainability

Gabriele Schwab, Chancellor’s Professor of Comparative Literature and Humanities Representative on the Ad Hoc Committee for the UCI Sustainability Initiative

Teresa Shewry, Assistant Professor of English and Director of Literature and the Environment at UCSB

Gregg Lambert, Dean’s Professor of Humanities and Director of the Humanities Center at Syracuse University
