Event Details

One of the foremost Argentinean writers of the second half of the twentieth century, Rodolfo Walsh (1927-1977) exemplified the ideal of the politically committed intellectual. The densely layered, rhythmic, allusive, and enigmatic language of his fiction presents a myriad of challenges to the translator. Cindy Schuster will discuss her approaches to translating Walsh’s texts and will read from her work. Presented in English.

Cindy Schuster (Ph.D. 2008) is a literary and academic translator. Her translations of fiction, poetry, and scholarly articles by Latin American writers have been published in numerous journals and anthologies.
