Javad Djavahery currently resides in Paris after being forced to flee Iran and claim refuge in France.  For many years he lived as a political refugee, waiting to return to his home country. Shifting between literature and film, he has produced many films and co-written numerous screenplays.  A bilingual author, he has two short story collections in Persian.  His first novel, written in French, was Soupir de l’Ange.  His second novel, Ma part d’elle, was published in 2017 and translated into English as “My Part of Her”. Javad Djavahery will discuss his experience as a refugee in France, his path as a bilingual writer, and his latest novel, Ma part d’elle.

This talk is in French (with English translation). Talk will be followed by a Q & A.

Coffee, refreshments, and snacks will be served!

This event is sponsored by the French Embassy Authors on Tour 2020, UCI Department of European Languages and Studies, and UCI Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture.
