Hi,

I am Hyunyoung Hyun, Academic Coordinator for the Korean language program at UCI.

I’m writing this email in regards to the 'Language Exchange Partnership'.
This Language Exchange Partnership is a language and cultural exchange program run by the UCI Korean language program in which students in Korean language courses and native Korean-speaking students get matched up and can practice their respective native languages, learn about different cultures, and make new friends. I’m for sure that it is also a great opportunity for international students to involve themselves on campus and meet American peers, which will ultimately better their experience in America.
If you're interested in this program, please email me back so that I can post your name on the board in the Korean office (HIB 448). Students in Korean courses will contact you to set a place and time for the meeting. It is recommended that a Korean native speaker and a student in Korean courses meet at least once a week for an hour; however the time, place and frequency of the meetings should be decided upon by the two conversation partners.

Your partner might ask you to help with homework assignments or test preparation. You're welcomed to help him/her out, but please just HELP and advise him/her to complete the assignments of his/her own.  My students will get an extra credit for each meeting, so it would be thankful to me if you give your partner a brief summary of your meeting with your signature. Just 1-2 sentences in Korean would be fine and this will be an evidence of getting extra credit.

Thank you again and if you have any questions relating not only to this partnership, please don't hesitate to contact me any time.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best,

Hyunyoung
