An Iliad

UCIrvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts - Drama Department presents

Great River Shakespeare Festival’s production of An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare starring Tarah Flanagan and Eva Scholz-Carlson.  Directed by Andrew Carlson and Tarah Flanagan

Tarah Flanagan stars in Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare's contemporary retelling of the Trojan War - weaving together poetry and humor to explore the parallels of ancient warfare to our modern experience.

With one actor inhabiting over fifty characters, live music, and language that ranges from direct and contemporary to poetic, this play is a powerful piece of theatrical storytelling. An Iliad grapples with humankind’s perpetual capacity for violence while exploring the beauty and profound human connection to be found in the midst of war.
