Anthony Francisco is a nationally recognized innovator in his field, known for his work as a Marvel Studios Senior Visual Development Artist for nine years. In addition to designing Baby Groot, Francisco contributed to the development of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for characters such as Loki from "Thor Ragnarok," Okoye and the Dora Milaje warriors in "Black Panther," Namor in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," and Modok in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Francisco presently is a Creative Director at Dolphin Entertainment where he created Creature Chronicles IP which has been released as digital art collectibles on the Solana Blockchain. Incorporating the humanities, art, and technology, this program will feature Francisco's artistry as well give insight regarding how his past in the Philippines has shaped his artistic vision.

Dr. Dorothy Fujita-Rony will be moderator and respondent, joined by Jenilene Francisco (Ph.D student, Department of Political Science) as a fellow respondent. This event is held in conjunction with Dr. Linda Trinh Vo's course, AsianAm52/SocSci78b, "Asian American Communities." This event is co-sponsored by the Department of African American Studies, Department of Art, Department of Art History, Department of Comparative Literature, Department of History, Department of Film and Media Studies, and Department of Global Studies.
