Three breakout sessions:
1. Scenes of Life: Stories from Memory  [Erika Hayasaki and Amy DePaul]
This workshop will focus on the role memory plays in storytelling...The memories of people we interview, and the writer's own memory.
We will consider the art of the interview, and the unavoidable uncertainty of memory.

2. Personal Narrative: Reporting Your Life [Amy Wilentz and Barry Siegel]
This workshop will focus on how to report on and tell your own story. Among other tools, we will consider the art of reconstruction, and how to do archival research.

3. From Idea to the Page: Having Your Voice Heard  [Hector Tobar and Miles Corwin]
This workshop will focus on writing in the public sphere...including the challenges of opinion writing. We will consider, as well, how to publish your story.
