Amplify Women of UCI: Hearing Our Stories

Click for more information

Please click here to join Amplify Womxn of UCI for this inaugural presentation, September 18th at 12:00.

The Amplify series was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. The series features 5-minute video interviews of womxn of UCI. Each guest shares their personal experience with discrimination and/or profiling based on race, gender, disability and other pieces of their identity. The video series will be instrumental in documenting these thought-provoking stories. In order to preserve them for future generations, they will be archived in the UCI Libraries Special Collections & Archives.
Erica Turley-De Villa and Tanya Zabalegui, two of the board members for A&PW, envisioned a form of storytelling that would provide a space for womxn of UCI to be heard. As Erica and Tanya began sharing their idea with individuals across campus, the support was immediate and generous. There are well over 15+ departments throughout campus that are either collaborating, supporting, or consulting on this initiative, and we are so grateful.
