Graduate students, faculty, and staff are welcome to a workshop that focuses on making presentations that accommodate disabilities in various ways, led by Sarah Orem, PhD. Orem is a scholar working at the intersection of disability, gender, and performance studies, and was a former Mellon/Sawyer "Suffer Well" Postdoctoral Fellow at UCI. Her work has appeared in venues such as Modern Drama, Women and Performance: A Journal of Feminist Theory, and The Journal of Literary and Cultural Disability Studies. She currently teaches in the Writing Program at USC and is finishing a book manuscript that shows how a collection of 20th and 21st century American literature is recuperating women homebound by disability and chronic illness as activist figures.
