Join us for a double book launch with Thomas S. Mullaney (The Chinese Typewriter) & Rebecca Tuhus-Dubrow (Personal Stereo). The launch will also feature comments from anthropologist Tom Boellstorff & freelance writer Alexandra Pechman and will be moderated by historian Jeffrey Wasserstrom.

The discussion will be followed by a book signing. Light refreshments will be served.

Biographies
Tom Mullaney is Associate Professor of Chinese History at Stanford University and author, most recently, of The Chinese Typewriter: A History (MIT Press).His writings have appeared in the Journal of Asian Studies, Technology & Culture, The Atlantic, Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Policy.

Rebecca Tuhus-Dubrow is a writer-in-residence at UC Irvine and author of Personal Stereo (Bloomsbury, Object Lessons Series).  Her writings have appeared in The New York Times Sunday Book Review, he Nation, and the Los Angeles Review of Books.

Tom Boellstorff is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at UC Irvine whose research engages with, among other things, questions of selfhood, technology, and the politics of belonging.

Alexandra Pechman is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in publications such as Artforum, Vogue, Tin House, and the New York Times.

Jeff Wasserstrom is Chancellor's Professor of History, UCI.
