The book exhibit is on display Fri, Feb. 1, through Mon., Feb. 26, and all of the books may be checked out by anyone with a UCI photo ID card.
“Off the Shelf & On Display” exhibits feature books from the UCI Libraries’ collection that raise awareness of social justice issues and reflect the UCI Libraries’ commitment to inclusive excellence. Furthermore, the display project aims to bring together librarians, members of student groups from across campus, and faculty to curate and develop content for each display.
Many books that we wanted to include were checked out (always a good sign); we did not recall them, because the purpose of these exhibits is to make our books more discoverable to our readers. Ideally, by the end of February, there will be fewer and fewer books on the shelves, because they have been checked out. We will do our best to replenish them.
