Congratulations to Fatimah Tobing Rony, whose feature-length film project in development was one of 8 selected from films around the world to go to Marché International du Film d’Animation d’Annecy, the highest-profile animation festival in the world, at Annecy, France, June 15-18, 2021. Rony, chair of the Department of Film and Media Studies, is currently working on a full-length animated film about Annah la Javanaise, a maid and model for the painter Paul Gauguin. She will also take part in the Women in Animation summit at Annecy and a video panel of the female directors at Annecy. Click below to learn more about her project.

Her short film Annah la Javanaise is in competition and an Official Selection at the Anifilm Festival in Liberec, Czech Republic June 22-27, 2021.
