Film screening and talk with Ghanaian-Italian filmmaker and activist Fred (Kudjo) Kuwornu. Response by UCI Professor of African American Studies Frank Wilderson.
Fred (Kudjo) Kuwornu is a filmmaker activist-producer-educator, born and raised in Italy and now based in Brooklyn. His mother is an Italian Jew, and his father is a Ghanaian surgeon who lived in Italy starting in the early '60s. His films include "Inside Buffalo" (2009), "18 Ius soli" (2013), and "Blaxploitalian: 100 Years of Black in Italian Cinema" (2019).
