EMA Poetry Event

Department: English

Date and Time: November 15, 2019 | 12:00 PM-2:00 PM

Event Location: HIB 341

Event Details

The English Majors Association invites you to join with them and faculty from the English Department to read and discuss some short poems on about immigration and the immigrant experience. This is a chance to remind yourself that you can read and discuss poetry just for pleasure as well as for class, and to hone your interpretive skills in a fun and relaxed setting--with free food into the bargain! The poems will be available soon on the EMA website (http://sites.uci.edu/englishmajorsassociation/) and on the EMA Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UCIenglishmajorsassociation) if you want to read them ahead of time (and I'll send them out in a reminder email), but they're all short and copies of the texts will be made available at the event; there's no requirement to do homework before you come.

Anyone who is interested is welcome, so feel free to bring friends or family. Friday, November 15th, 12-2pm in HIB 341, lunch will be served.

Cheers,
Hugh Roberts
EMA Faculty Liaison.
