Yao has been named a Pedagogical Fellow for 2019. Most commonly known for their facilitation of the TA Professional Development Program, Fellows are competitively selected based on teaching evaluations, scholarship, service, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated interest in pedagogy. Throughout this year, they will be trained in advanced pedagogy in higher education, educational development, and academic job market preparation. The Pedagogical Fellows serve as teaching ambassadors to their departments and mentors to Teaching Assistants.
