Japaneese Cultural Showcase カルチャーショーケース

Humanities Instructional Building, room HIB 100

Purposes:
It is our hope that through this event, it will be possible to bring together a variety of members of the community during one afternoon who share a mutual love for the Japanese language and culture, and that this can serve as a further inspiration for both participants and audience to pursue endeavors which involve use of the Japanese language.

Qualifications for participation:
Members of the adult community, ranging from community college to 4-year college students, to adults in all walks of life, who have not lived in Japan for more than a period of 2 years.

Performance:
A 5-minute act involving the use of Japanese as much as possible.
Some suggestions include: vocal/musical performance, short skit, comedy/impersonations, short speech, power point presentation, dance, etc.

Application for participation:
Approximately 20-25 acts (either individual or group) on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Awards and Prizes: Each and every participant will be awarded a Certificate of Participation. In addition, some other special forms of recognition are presently in the planning stage.
