Students intending to enroll in a Chinese language class at UCI for the first time must first complete an online placement assessment at http://humanities.uci.edu/placement/chinese
Look for further instructions in the closing message when you submit the online assessment.

For students who complete placement tests, oral interviews (one-on-one speaking test) will be offered from 12:30-1:30pm, on November 9, 2021, in HIB-448. It is on a walk-in basis and no appointment is necessary. Be sure to bring the test results with you. Your web registration restriction will be removed after the interview

Korean:
After the test, appear for a Faculty Oral Interview to get your placement and obtain authorization to register for Korean class. Interview is offered via Zoom on November 16th, 2:00-4:00 PM (PT). Please email Hyunyoung Hyun, Korean Language Program Coordinator, at hhyun@uci.edu no later than November 6th, 12:00 PM (PT) to make an appointment for interview time. Please attach your language background survey form when you email Hyun. Be sure to get your student ID card (or any photo ID) ready at the time of the interview.
