To Enroll in a Chinese Language Course: Must complete a Chinese placement assessment at http://humanities.uci.edu/placement/chinese and the Chinese test can be taken anytime.
Oral Interview:

Oral tests (interviews) will be from 2:00-3:00pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 via Zoom meeting. These tests are on a walk-in basis, so no appointment is required. Be sure to be able to show your language background survey form and test results to the interviewer during the oral test. Your web registration restriction will be removed after the interview.

Korean:
After the test, students are required to appear for a Faculty Oral Interview to get your placement and obtain authorization to register for Korean class. Interview is offered via Zoom https://uci.zoom.us/j/92968566567 on Thursday, May 21st, 1:00 PM-4:00 PM, Pacific Time. Please email Hyunyoung Hyun, Korean Language Program Coordinator, at hhyun@uci.edu, no later than May 20th, 12:00 PM (PT), to schedule a time for the Interview. Join a Zoom meeting five minutes before your scheduled time for the interview. Once you join the Zoom meeting, you will automatically stay at the ‘waiting room’ until you are invited to the interview. Be sure to get your student ID card ready at the time of the interview. For inquiries about the Oral Interview, contact Hyunyoung Hyun.

We will be offering oral interviews via Zoom meeting on a pre-scheduled basis once spring quarter begins on Monday 3/30.
If you have completed the online placement assessment and you are required to appear for an oral interview, you can email rhsieh@uci.edu to request a Zoom oral interview at a specific hour.
Interviews are available M-F at 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, and 11:45 am when classes are in session.
