Koehn Fellow

The CTI typically houses research fellows each academic year for periods of one or more academic quarters (of approximately 3 months each).

Visiting scholars, primarily post-docs and professors, have joined us from their home institutions in Germany, Spain, Korea, Japan, Senegal, Turkey, and China, among others. (Current and previous research fellows are listed on the right).
The CTI regrettably is unable to provide financial support for its fellows at this time. Our research fellows must therefore rely on funding from their home institutions or external funding agencies such as Fulbright and DAAD.

Visitors are required to pay a US $100 affiliation fee when they formally apply for research associate status at the CTI. Non-US citizens and those without green cards are urged to plan ahead: it can take at least three months for a J-1 visa application to be processed.
We can provide office space and internet access as well as assistance in obtaining library privileges. Visitors who plan to refer to the holdings of the Derrida Archive or other materials in Special Collections are strongly advised to contact Michelle Light, Acting Head of Special Collections and Archives, to confirm that the materials they wish to use are available during their intended visit: michelle.light@uci.edu or (949) 824-7193.

All research fellows will need to provide proof of adequate financial support (at least US $1600 for each month of stay) and medical insurance for themselves and any dependents. Additional information for visiting researchers is available from the UCI International Center.
