Lecture - The Hug of the Polar Bear: Multispecies Justice in the Anthropocene
Reception to follow

Recent discussions about humans’ transformative impact on global ecosystems have revolved around
the concept of the Anthropocene. This seminar explores the narratives that have evolved about the Anthropocene, including utopian and dystopian, creative and critical ones. We will focus specifically on the difficulties of translating climate change into familiar narrative templates, and the reshaping of narratives about relations between humans and other species against the background of a possible mass extinction of species.
