Vincent Steckler joins Friends of Art History

We are honored to welcome our newest Friend of Art History: UCI alumnus Vincent Steckler ’80 (B.S. Mathematics and Information and Computer Science)!

Vince recently gave the Department of Art History a gift which will allow us to expand our art history internship program. He took his first art history class to satisfy his breadth requirement, found art history to be one of his favorite classes, and credits UCI art history classes for his lifelong interest in art.

Vince travels extensively for business, working mostly in Europe, and enjoys spending his free time in museums. Just in the past year, he visited the Hermitage, the British National Gallery, The Tate, MoMA, Boston’s MFA, the Belvedere, Albertina, Kunsthistorisches, Gemaldegalerie Alte Meister, The Van Gogh, The Rijksmuseum and Singapore Art Museums.

Faculty will convene during the summer to develop a plan to use Vince’s gift to expand our existing internship program and to develop new opportunities for our students.

We are grateful for Vince’s support of our students and look forward to sharing more details with you in the future.

Have a very happy summer, Cecile
