A Message of Empathy and Concern from Dean Tyrus Miller

Dear Friends of Armenian Studies at UCI,

The current escalation of violent conflict in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh) is of deep concern to many in our community in the UC Irvine School of Humanities, which is home to UCI’s Center for Armenian Studies and the Meghrouni Family Presidential Chair in Armenian Studies. Some of you may be touched even more directly by these events, because of your place of origin or ties of family and friendship with those affected by the conflict. I express my sincere concern about these events and my hope for a rapid cessation of violence and resolution of conflict without further harm to the people of the region.
