Join us on Friday, February 5, 2016, for a book talk and signing with Professor Tiffany Willoughby-Herard who will be introduced by Professor Frank Wilderson. Dr. Willoughby-Herard will discuss her book, Waste of a White Skin: The Carnegie Corporation and the Racial Logic of White Vulnerability (UC Press, 2015), which is a pathbreaking history of the development of scientific racism, white nationalism, and segregationist philanthropy in the U.S. and South Africa in the early twentieth century.

Dr. Willoughby-Herard is an associate professor in the Department of African American Studies. Dr. Wilderson is a professor in the Department of African American Studies and Drama.
