Provost’s Postdoctoral Scholars Program for Faculty Diversity

Eligibility
The program is seeking applicants with the potential to bring to their academic careers the critical perspective that comes from their non-traditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of groups historically underrepresented in higher education. Candidates who earned their Ph.D. after July 1, 2015 or will have their degree in hand by July 1, 2017 are eligible to apply. The Ph.D. degree must come from an institution other than USC.

Candidates should select an academic unit or department as their proposed host and explain the choice in their cover letter.
Applicants must submit the following items as PDF files by January 15, 2017 at Noon, Pacific Standard Time:
o Cover letter including explanation of desired program affiliation.
o CV
o Two-page statement of the applicant’s research interests.
o Applicants will also be required to submit the names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of three faculty members who can supply letters of reference directly to USC.
Referees will be contacted by email and should submit letters of reference electronically by January 15, 2017 at Noon, Pacific Standard Time. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they submit accurate email addresses for their referees.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their prior academic accomplishments, the significance and intellectual merit of their research interests, and their potential contribution to building a culturally diverse community of postdoctoral scholars at USC. Up to four postdoctoral awards will be made per year.
We will start accepting applications October 24, 2017.
