History of Humanities Associates

Founded in 1987 by Gloria Schick Gellman, the Humanities Associates grew from a very small group of humanities supporters to 100 strong by 1993. In 1993, the Humanities Associates raised nearly $100,000 to support various awards given annually to Humanities faculty and students for outstanding achievement in teaching and research.

A Sustainable Investment in Our Future

Annual gifts play a pivotal role in ensuring a continuous stream of support for our most critical student, faculty, and academic initiatives. Through generous philanthropic support and active engagement with the School of Humanities community, the members of Humanities Associates strengthen the School —and their own connection to UCI.

Humanities Associates

We invite you to join us by investing in our future. Humanities Associates serves as our comprehensive annual giving society for the School of Humanities. The reinvigorated Humanities Associates builds on the foundation of its predecessors and elevates support for the Humanities to a new, advanced level. As a member of Humanities Associates, you can designate your philanthropic support toward any fund within the School of Humanities that you desire – from academic programming, to student support, faculty research and community outreach.
