Critical Theory Emphasis Mini-Seminar:

The two seminars that follow Monday’s lecture are aimed primarily at graduate students undertaking or considering the Critical Theory Emphasis, but all are welcome. Short readings will be distributed in advance, which you can request by sending a message to critical.theory@uci.edu (please put “mini-seminar readings” as subject heading).

Samera Esmeir is an Associate Professor in the Department of Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on the intersections of legal and political thought, Middle Eastern history, and colonial and post-colonial studies. She is the author of Juridical Humanity: A Colonial History (Stanford UP, 2012).
